Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central components of our corporate goals. Therefore, we are currently working on numerous energy projects.
Recently, and together with Karg GmbH we put a three-stage heat pump cascade for our office complex into operation, replacing our old gas heating system.
Heat pumps provide a high heat output, even at low outside temperatures. The operating costs are lower than those of gas heating systems, because they require less maintenance and utilize free ambient heat. By using the renewable electricity from our photovoltaic systems, the heat pump cascade is largely climate-neutral and contributes to the decarbonization of our company.
With a COP value between 4 and 6, heat pumps are significantly more efficient than conventional heating systems. This means that 1 kWh of electricity generates 4 to 6 kWh of heat. In comparison, the efficiency of a gas heating system is only about 85 percent.
Through the use of multiple units, the heat pump cascade offers high operational reliability. With increasing demand, additional cascades can be added, making the systems scalable.
In Germany, heat pumps are eligible for funding, making them an environmentally friendly and economically attractive heating solution.
